The Op Art Shawl features a play the traditional Old Shale Lace pattern, updated to create a shawl with a more modern construction and feel. The lace pattern distorts the stripes in a way that is reminiscent of the work of Bridget Riley, and so the name was born.
We recommend using one of our DK yarns such as Gotland DK with this pattern. We also offer the Op Art Shawl Project Kit which includes the pattern and three skeins of Gotland DK in your chosen shade.

This shawl is knitted from edge to edge, using a combination of old shale and garter stitch. It features a simple stripe sequence and some short row shaping
