This year we are delighted to host a number of shopping experiences at our Blacker Yarns mill outlet: 

• Personal Shopping Experiences 

If you prefer to shop in person, you are welcome to visit, browse and make your purchases at our Mill Outlet which is based at our mill HQ. Contact us to arrange a time and day that suits you to visit. We are open Monday to Thursday each week from 11am-2pm. We do not open on UK bank holidays.

• Saturday Shopping Extravaganzas

Join us at our Mill Outlet for a unique, hands-on shopping experience exploring our wide selection of premium knitting and crochet yarns. Our popular Shopping Extravaganzas take place several times a year on Saturdays, offering an opportunity for those unable to visit during the week.

• Guided Mill Tours

We regularly host visiting groups for tours of our spinning mill to see how our beautiful yarns are made by our very experienced team using heritage machinery, some dating back to the 1940s! We can accommodate up to 15 people and welcome enquiries from group organisers.

Update: USA Sales and Shipping Arrangements 

From 29 August 2025, the $800 de minimis threshold for commercial shipments to the USA was removed. We are pleased to announce that we have now set up an account with Royal Mail, our international courier who will be managing the newly implemented USA customs tariffs and process on our behalf.  For our USA-based customers any customs taxes due will be paid by Blacker Yarns, plus we will continue to offer free shipping when you place an order of £120 or more. We are pleased to now have this system in place and would like to thank you for your ongoing support and patience.

In March 2023 we received a wonderful business boost from Retail Entrepreneur, Theo Paphitis. We tweeted Theo on Twitter/X about our small British-breed yarn business in Launceston, Cornwall during ‘Small Business Sunday’ and we were one of six weekly winners to gain a retweet or repost by Theo to his over half a million Twitter/X and Instagram followers.

The weekly initiative, set up by Theo in 2010, now has over 3,500 #SBS winners and supports small businesses in the UK. We are delighted to be selected as a #SBS official winner, to join this fantastic network of small businesses and to be profiled on the #SBS website (www.theopaphitissbs.com), an exclusive to all Small Business Sunday winners.
