The Hashtag Mitts in Samite Silk Blend Featured in The Knitter

We are delighted that our Samite Silk Blend 4-ply wool range is featured in Issue 202 of The Knitter magazine.

The Hashtag Mitts (pictured below) by Mary Henderson are quick-knit colour work wrist warmers and  an ideal stash buster project. Made in our Samite silk blend 4-ply wool in Galahad and Nimue shades, with one 100g skein of each shade.

An abstract pattern of squares and hashtag-like motifs decorates these long wrist warmers. Mary used yellow and blue shades of our gorgeous Samite Silk blend, a woollen spun mix of Blue faced Leicester and Shetland wool blended with recycled silk. The wrist warmers are knitted in the round using the stranded colour work technique – carry the colours not in use up the rounds, catching in the floats.

Mary says: “I used only 20g of each shade for my wrist warmers, so they’re a great way to use up leftovers yarn. They’re finished with an i-cord cast off to give a neat edge”.
