Spring/Summer Lightweight Sock – Project Kit

Designed by Lizzie of Neli Handmade, we think these lightweight ankle socks are perfect for wearing on spring/summer days. We love the ribbed heel, and subtle pattern on the ankles and toes, and block of colour on the heels.

Lizzie says “As always, it has been a pleasure working on this exciting collaboration with Blacker Yarns. I love the name ‘Bam-boozle’ and the versatile attributes this yarn brings. A great product to work with in the Spring/Summer and its delicate nature is lovely to handle.

A sock design was the obvious choice, as the yarn, with the bamboo content, is antibacterial, hypoallergenic, thermo-regulating and also absorbs moisture. All really important for
keeping your feet in tip top condition in the heat. Not only does this fine work have all these positive features this season but they can also double up as an extra layer of warmth for your feet, in the depths of Winter…. I will certainly be trying this!!”

Pattern Level of Ability: Intermediate

This kit for a pair of lightweight summer socks, can be knitted in two sizes:

Medium 5-8 UK/EU 38-42/US 6-9,

Large 9-11 UK/EU 43-45.5/US 10-12.

Your kit will contain 2 x 50g skeins of our Bam-boozle (Limited Edition 4-ply, 20% bamboo, blended with 40% Romney and 40% BFL) for the Main Shade, plus 1 x 50g skein of the Contrast Colour.

Your knitting project kit will arrive beautifully presented in one of our recyclable cardboard boxes, and contain the pattern, and wool in the colours of your choice. The socks in our photographs are knitted in Pale Blue and Blue. There’s a great choice of colours to suit all tastes…. What are you going to choose?
