We may be a small team of only three people but we share a big passion for designing, creating, promoting and wearing 100% pure wool products. We’re a dedicated and hard working bunch, and we love developing knitting and crochet yarns for your enjoyment. We take your feedback very seriously, producing new ranges based on your suggestions of what you would like to buy and reintroducing firm favourites such as our Samite yarn range, in response to your feedback.
Kamila is our brand manager, focussed on developing and expanding the Blacker Yarns offer. She collaborates with a range of pattern designers, test knitters and suppliers for our product development, she designs the new ranges and liaises with our customers, magazine editors, trade stockists, photographers and can be seen at many of the shows that we attend. Kamila speaks several languages and enjoys crocheting and knitting. She is currently doing more crocheting and finding it very therapeutic and relaxing. She fell in love with natural wool after making her first design which was a shawl.
Ginny is our part time admin assistant who processes, packs and sends out all the orders that we receive each week. If you place an order with us, you’ll receive a hand written note from Ginny, providing the best customer service and attention to detail. Ginny loves making things and is a pattern designer in her spare time, and you’ll find her creations and latest blog articles on Ravelry as: GinxCraft.
Sarah is our part time marketing executive, sharing our stories and latest product news on our website and across our social media sites. She writes our fortnightly newsletter and attends local and regional trade shows to promote our range of yarns. Sarah has worked in a number of marketing, PR and project support roles all within the creative and cultural sector.
We’re fortunate to collaborate with many test knitters and freelance pattern designers from around the world who create wonderful knitwear and crochet garments and accessories with our yarns. Our mill colleagues who we share an office with also produce knitted and crochet sample items for us from time to time too.
