Nearly Home Shawl – Project Kit

£52.00

If you are local to Cornwall you’ll have heard of the beloved Nearly Home Trees, a cluster of trees marking the Devon and Cornwall border.

This shawl was designed by Katie Waller who took inspiration from these trees, with the forest canopy blocking the sunlight which filters through the dense foliage, casting patches of light onto the forest floor below.

This patterns uses two skeins of our Nearly Home Trees yarn, 4-ply spun from a blend of fine Bowmont 70% and Zwartbles 30% that we have sourced from local farms. Originally knitted in  Fairywood and Fern-Leaved shades (no longer available) and hand dyed by Tanya Niccolls of Boscastle yarns. Why not try in our equally stunning Cookworthy Knapp natural?

This shawl is worked seamlessly (please ignore the seam in the photos), beginning with the point of the shawl, and increased as you go, creating simple yet elegant lace holes along the edge and throughout the shawl.

Your Nearly Home Shawl kit will contain the pattern and 2 x 100g skeins of Cookworthy Knapp, all beautifully wrapped and presented in one of our recyclable boxes.

If you would like to substitute the Nearly Home Trees yarn for another of our 4-ply wools please let us know.
