We are delighted to offer our Ewe-Nique Merino wool. The wool is beautiful and soft worsted spun 100% pure Merino yarn. We previously had Ewe-nique Merino available in lace weights, and have introduced the same yarn in Aran. These cozy bundles of cream merino combine simplicity and luxury. Sourced from the soft fleece of Merino sheep, it brings a natural warmth and gentle feel to your crafting. We are selling these packs of loose skeins – 1kg .
The cream colour adds a classic and versatile touch. Its softness makes it perfect for various knitting or crocheting projects, whether you’re crafting a delicate shawl, snug blanket, or cosy pullover. The fibres are finely spun for a smooth and pliable texture that’s easy to work with. This wool is lightweight and offers great stitch definition, making it suitable for a range of patterns.
As you work with this yarn, you might catch a subtle hint of its organic origin, a nod to the sheep it came from. With its understated beauty and versatility, these bundles of cream merino wool invite crafters to create with comfort and a touch of elegance.
Merino as a breed of sheep were established in Spain near the end of the Middle Ages, and were for several centuries kept as a strict Spanish monopoly; exports of the breed were not allowed, and those who tried risked capital punishment. During the eighteenth century, flocks were sent to the courts of a number of European countries, and subsequently spread to many parts of the world, including South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.
