This is a good first Fair Isle project and a pretty design. Rita has also designed a jumper to match.

To fit: One Size, diameter approximately 28 cm / 11 inches

Pattern designed for:
Blacker Yarns woollen spun 3-ply or 4-ply yarns. The original was worked in Blacker Cornish Garden 3-ply yarn. This design would also be attractive worked in 4-ply Blacker Breeds Shetland natural shades or Blacker Mohair Blends natural and dyed yarn.

Blacker Cornish Garden 3-ply yarn: MC Hepworth one 100g skein, one 100g skein each of Trebah blue, Boconnoc pink, Cotehele gold, Heligan green, Tremenheere deep brown-grey (use up the spare from making the Fair Isle Jumper for these projects or experiment with colour variations for gifts for friends!)

Notions: 1 set circular or double-pointed 2.75 mm (UK 12, US 2) needles 1 set circular or double-pointed 3.00 mm (UK 11, US 2) needles Stitch marker Darning needle for sewing up Gauge/tension: 28 sts and 36 rows rows = 10 cm / 4 inches, over stocking stitch using 3.25mm needles Pattern notes: The Mitts are worked in the round. A woollen spun yarn is traditional for Fair Isle work as the fluffiness makes it “sticky” when working with colours. If a worsted spun yarn is chosen, it will require approximately 50-100g additional yarn as the vertical tension is lower.
