This yarn is unique and rare! Boreray is the rarest of all British sheep. Thanks to Jane Cooper and some dedicated breeders, we have sufficient fibre to make the second commercially spun batch of Boreray yarn.
It comes in a natural fawn aran weight. There are some coarser guard fibres, but the overall effect is reasonably soft and ideal for sturdy outerwear creating a dense fabric which shows good definition. If you're looking for yarn with a smoother handle then why not try our popular St. Kilda Laceweight yarn which is a mixture of Shetland, Boreray and Soay fibres.
