This pretty hat is made with a stretchy garter stitch brim with the crown picked up along one edge. The brim is worked in a main colour and then the crown is worked with contrasting stripes, in a simple travelling lacework design.

We recommend using one of our DK yarns such as Gotland, Shetland Coffee or Tamar for this pattern.

More Information

This hat can be made to measure for larger or smaller heads: note that a longer brim will result in a larger crown. Pisky is constructed by making a stretchy garter stitch band, then picking up along one edge and working decreases towards the crown. It may be worked in the round using a circular needle and magic loop method or 4 double-pointed needles, or more simply back and forth with a seam to complete. It may be completed with a tassel or pom-pom in the Contrast Colour, or left without either, if preferred.
