Out and About at Trade Shows, Yarn Events and Wool Festivals This Year

We love nothing more than talking about our beautiful yarns and meeting likeminded people who share our passion for knitting, crocheting and everything woolly.

New for us in 2022:

This year we are super excited to have been accepted as an exhibitor at a new event which is almost on our doorstep called Kernow Yarn and Fibre Festival (Kernow YAFF). The festival is being hosted at The Pavilion Centre, Royal Cornwall Showground in Wadebridge, Cornwall for one day, Sunday 18 September. We’ll be there along with our colleagues from our sister company and the manufacturer of our products, The Natural Fibre Company.  We very much hope that this new event, showcasing small and local yarn and fibre producers from across the county, will become a regular feature in the annual wool show calendar. We do hope you’ll be able to come along.

Another addition to the Southwest’s fibre events is the newly created FibreQuest which was held at Fernhill Farm in Somerset on 19th and 20th March and we attended with our colleagues from NFC. It was organised by the same team that bring Stitchfest to Newton Abbot racecourse each year, another event that we are signed up for. Stitchfest is taking place on 5th and 6th November and this is the first time that we will have taken part, so we are super excited to meet lots of new customers and to share the joy of knitting with our 100% British wool.

One of the highlights of our year is being at Yarndale in Skipton. Yarndale is described as ‘celebrating the brilliance of yarn in all its forms with over 180 makers, craft workers, retailers, and artisans coming together in the picturesque market town in North Yorkshire’. This year’s festival dates are confirmed as 24th and 25th September and we’re all set for another super weekend to highlight our range of pure and natural yarns sourced from UK farmers.

Wonderwool Wales is another favourite, which takes place each April at the Royal Welsh Showground at Builth Wells in Powys. Established in 2006 Wonderwool Wales has grown each year and has a wonderful variety of exhibits and workshops including embellishments, clothing and home accessories and furnishings.

County Shows across the region are also a regular feature for us, giving us the opportunity to meet many of the farmers who supply us with the fleece from their flocks. Traceability is an important factor when selecting, creating and promoting our products. This year we will be at the Devon County Show in Exeter and the Honiton Show.

Other events which are very close to home and work for us are those hosted at Cowslip in Launceston. We love attending the Summer Fair taking place on 23rd and 24th July and at Christmas time the Cowslip Christmas Craft Fair. It’s a great opportunity to stock up on seasonal and regionally produced gifts and to take in the festive spirit at this charming Cornish event.

As well as exhibiting at trade shows and fairs throughout the year we also offer group tours at our mill in Launceston, Cornwall. The tours give you a chance to see behind-the-scenes the fascinating processes that go into producing our finest quality range of yarns. Meet our highly skilled, industry trained, technicians and experts who handle a range of fibres and fleece often from rare and specialised varieties of sheep, turning them into beautiful woollen yarn that we sell to customers all over the world. Our group tours need to be booked and paid for in advance, minimum of 7 and maximum of 15 per group and include tea, coffee and biscuits and 10% discount on our products when purchased onsite during the visit. If you would like further details please email us.
