The historic Jacob Sheep are famous for their striking two-coloured coats of dark and light wool. This enables us to colour sort and blend to achieve four-five shades in the pure Jacob yarns, a marl of mid and dark brown and a further three softer shades by blending the dark, mid and white colours with mohair.
The pure yarns are firm and hard-wearing, suitable for outer wear, and come in Double Knitting weight. They are normally in 50g balls, unless otherwise described on the Details tab on each individual product page. We now also have a lovely soft worsted spun version of the pure yarn, which is very attractive in both colour and handle. You may also be interested in our 50/50 blend with mohair, which is also softer and can be worn next to the skin.
