  1. loved it!

by Mary Jane Watson on 27 May 2013

I have finished knitting the Raglan Sleeve Sweater pattern from Blacker Yarns that I have made up for my daughter. It looks stunning! I am really pleased with it, especially as it was the first jumper I have knitted for about 20 years - Im a sock knitter by nature.

The pattern was well thought out, I had to think a bit for the back herringbone rib, but once I had the pattern 'installed' in my brain I was off! The raglan sleeves with the tiny bit of garter stitch have come out nicely, and best of all...

After blocking (I block when all the knitting is done, but before sewing up), everything fitted, nothing was a bit longer here, or a bit shorter there as I have found in the past when sewing up garments I have painstakingly knitted up for hours.

Just sent off for another Blacker pattern and some yarn for an alpaca sweater for next season.
