All-over cabled unisex body warmer knitting pattern

Designed by Tina Barrett , this attractive and cosy body warmer for both men and women has an all-over Wind Sand cable design which gives it a quilted effect and makes it both fit well and keep you warm. It is completed with a full length front zip, or you may simply wear it open as a jerkin. The Sand Wind cable is reminiscent of the sand where the tide has gone out and we photographed the body warmer on a Cornish beach.

11 (12, 13, 14, 15) 50g balls Blacker Yarns DK yarn
The original version was worked in Blacker Yarns Pure Black Welsh Mountain DK yarn but this will work in any Blacker Yarns DK.

1 pair each of 3.25mm and 4mm needles
Cable needle
Stitch holder
22 (22, 23, 23, 24) inches / 56 (56, 58, 58, 61) cm open ended zip fastener
Sewing needle and contrast thread

Tension/Gauge
32sts x 28 rows over 4 inch/10cm using 4mm needles and Wind Sand Cable Stitch
