Alexandra chunky fitted military jacket pattern

This stylish fitted jacket, designed by Meg Crowther, comes in 3 adult sizes and is knitted in a basket weave pattern with a ribbed waist band for shape. The double breasted front and epaulettes give it a military look. If you don’t have the patience for the fitted version, just omit the waist band and you will have a stylish loose jacket. Using the yarn double means this coat will be ideal for those cold winter months and cool spring and autumn days.

Finished chest size: Small: 10-12, Medium: 14-16, Large: 18-20
Measurements (actual garment):36” (94cm), 40” (104cm), 44” (113cm)

Materials:
22, 24, 26 x 50g balls Blacker Yarns Double Knitting yarn – this may either be in one colour or, as photographed in a tweedy effect, using two colours: we suggest Falkland Corriedale in Olive mixed with Corriedale/Hebridean in Purple, 11,12, 13 balls of each.

Other options are less bulky Shetland in natural shades or, for a more striking contrast effect use very dark browns with cream or navy with white yarns.
