Jesse Cabled Pullover in Lyonesse DK by USA based, Cocoknits

It’s the start of a new year and as we brace ourselves for the cold snap predicted in the next few days and weeks our thoughts naturally start to wander to the milder spring months ahead. In the meantime we’re indoors in the warm and enjoying developing lots of new ranges and offers for 2024, as well as seeing lots of beautiful pattern designs come to fruition and new collaborations emerge with pattern designers located many miles away and in warmer climates.

We were delighted to see the Jesse cabled pullover designed by USA based, Cocoknits launched online recently. Cocoknits is the brainchild of Julie Weisenberger of Oakland, California.

The Jesse has a crossed shawl collar and is inspired by the classic Irish fisherman’s sweater using  the Cocoknits Method (with more details on the Cocoknits website). The cables are worked over the front, back and sleeves, with moss stitch on the sides and underarms. It is knitted in our Blacker Yarns Lyonesse DK yarn in Peridot shade. “Everything about Jesse makes it an engaging, satisfying project to knit and an absolutely decadent piece to wear” says Julie.

Our Lyonesse yarn range is named after the mythical sunken land lost under the waves millennia ago off the far west of Cornwall. It is a special 50/50 blend of natural linen and soft white Falkland Island Corriedale/Merino wool worsted spun for a soft, smooth finish. The wool adds presence and memory to the yarn, while the linen contributes crispness and strength. The combination creates a light yarn with good stitch definition, which will retain its block wonderfully.

The Jesse pattern is available to purchase on the CocoKnits website and on Ravelry.
