Barleycorn Shawl Project Kit

Designed for Blacker Yarns by Sara R. of MyCupofKnitting based in Finland, Barleycorn Shawl is a generously sized triangular shawl that will keep you warm when it’s chilly, or you just need a warm hug.

Sara says “The inspiration for Barleycorn Shawl came to me one evening when I was browsing through various stitch patterns and stumbled across the corn looking stitch. Right away I knew I wanted to design a big, triangular (my favourite shawl shape) shawl featuring that stitch. To let the stitch pattern shine, I’ve kept rest of the shawl rather simple.”

The Barleycorn Shawl starts from the right tip and ends with a ribbed border at the left edge. The pattern has charts for the textured panel, otherwise it’s written.

Sara’s version in these photos is knitted in Pale Maiden, but you can choose your kit from our wide selection of Blacker Swan shades. Your project kit will contain the pattern and 6 balls of Blacker Swan 4-ply, and arrive beautifully packaged in one of our recyclable cardboard boxes.
