Balvraid Hap – Project Kit

You may not have heard the term hap used for a cosy woollen shawl before. This word originates from the Shetlands. This triangular half-hap shawl was designed for us by Rita Taylor. The pattern comes in two sizes, and our kit provides wool for the larger version (please see the finished measurements below). You may choose from either our Tamar Lustre 4-ply or Samite Silk Blend 4-ply. We have previously offered this kit with a striped border, but have decided a single colour is more elegant. (Please just ignore the stripe instructions on the lace border chart.)

The shawl is worked seamlessly, beginning with the Central Garter Stitch Section. Stitches are picked up around the edge for the Stockinette Stitch Lace Border and finally a Garter Stitch Applied Edging is knitted on parallel to the live stitches.

Your kit will contain the pattern and 3 x 100g skeins of your chosen yarn. it will contain, all beautifully presented in one of our recyclable cardboard boxes.
